In my past experiences using products that you would normally consider too heavy for your hair may help.Using a treatment conditioner instead of a daily will help add weight to your hair and I also agree that mouse and natural drying is ideal for hair with waves or curls. If your hair is on the straighter side I would make sure that your hair has not been thinned too much by your hairstylist,as this is a common occurance in HK.The shorter hairs from thinning will make your hair appear more "frizzy" in the humidity.Go for solidity on the ends of your hair and the weight in the cut should help.
K,
Hola, sorry for the delay...First, stay away from any and all propellant based fixatives such as mousse, hairspray or gels. They are humidity by nature and can cause scalp issues in humid climates. The use of a light cream based product is best in these cases. Also use a normal to deep cleansing shampoo with a Re-constructor rather than conditioner. Reason being, a conditioner coats and a re-conditioner penetrate and adds molecular weight. If you need any type of after product do not use petroleum based products rather try a drop of refined Almond oil...cheers
I have extremely fine hair - tried everything from perming and dying but my hair is still as fine as I was born! No volumizing shampoo helped. No hairspray was ever "competent" enough to hold my hair but until a month ago, I found my cure! Bumble and bumble classic hairspray!!! Mine comes in a pink bottle. It gives me at least half a day hold and when I re-spray, my hair would not get sticky or gel together. Not exactly wallet friendly but great buy.
