just wonder if anyone knows about knitting? i need to knit a pair a gloves to my friend whom i promised long ago and now is asking for his long dreamed gift........
There are lots of knitting instructions online. Try google: knitting instructions gloves
Gloves (the kind with individual fingers) are quite 'fussy' things to knit as you must knit each finger and the thumb separately on four needles or use two needles and then sew each finger closed.
It can be difficult to get just the right length for each finger to make the gloves comfortable. Before you start knitting, have your friend trace his open hand on paper so that you can easily measure the length for each finger.
If you are not an experienced knitter, it's much easier to knit a scarf!

Gloves are pretty difficult to knit, especially for a beginner. Have you thought about knitting a scarf or hat instead? If you get stuck, send me a message and I would be willing to spend a couple of hours providing you with a crash course. I've also found this other pattern for traditional gloves which you may like: http://www.berroco.com/exclusives/ken/ken.html
