Just joined in n saw this thread. Altho it's very late for the topic and i guess those who wanted to get a curling thong, had bought it ages ago. But i jus thot of sharing my experience with Babyliss which my friends and i sincerely think that it works best compared to other big/commercial brands. As for where to get, normally professional hair shop as lorriat had revealed. TST has one, Kwun Tong is where i got mine and i believe there r more.

In my experience curling tongs fry your hair and leave the ends very dry and brittle. Are ceramic tongs less damaging than the metal ones?

Mamadavid,
ceramic and metal tongs are all damaging coz u have to realise one thing they are using very high heat to curl your hair. If u really have to use the tongs everyday, before u use your curling tongs use a Nioxin thermo spray or oils that mainly protect hair ends. Can also get that in Jordan if they have stock available.

For your situation if u really want to have healthy hair my recommendation would be
1) trim the ends (the very dry and brittle ones)
2) Stop all colouring and perming etc for the time being (if u could not stand it just do the roots and avoid the ends)

Your hair is the material for a good hairstyle if the material is not in good shape/condition the style will never come out beautifully.
