funny you should say that you are having a hard time finding work. there was a front page article in the newspaper a few days ago saying that they are expecting a labour shortage...maybe your expectations are too high (salary or type of job)?

Anyways, back to this topic - I think it is hard to find work here unless you wish to work as a teacher/tutor. Sorry am assuming you are an expat like me!
In all other industries employers can find workers who are just as capable as expats for less money and with the bonus of them speaking Canto/Mand. & even Japanese.
May I know what kind of job you are looking for? My friend's company is hiring. They found dificult to hire someone as many of the candidates have high expectation on salary but not so much knowledge on their jobs. Many just think that they could get high salary because of the current economy.
We have also seen many are not deligent durng their course of work.
