Ive been living in HK for almost a year now and the one thing that shocks me is panty line. Do women not realize here that its really embarrasing and really looks horrible? Im talking about every proffesional woman in Hong Kong. Women in Hong Kong dress very well, but panty line ruins the whole outfit. I understand that underwear must be worn and that a thong may be uncomfortable, but there are a million other ways to avoid panty line. Can anybody explain?
You know what is worse?
Local women here keep the price tag or the shop label stuck under their shoe soles... I have been living here since 1995 & still cannot understand why they most do that....
I am a local girl. I always wear thongs. I also found that around 90% girls I saw on the street, they all wear big pants! I have no ideas why too. My boyfriend also asked me but I told him that a lot of my friends who are local too. They found thongs are uncomfortable to wear. Personally, I have no problems with that.
For the shoes, I agree! I have no ideas why too. I always ask the shopkeeper to peel the labels off for me in the shop right away!
I think the shoe label may be used as a status symbol, a bit like everyone wearing such obvious labels all over their clothes etc in HK.
I prefer to keep things less obvious (whether I'm wearing designer or high street labels). For those really in the know about fashion, they will know a particular designers item from 40 paces without it being overtly stated...
