Posted by midnightlady (200 days ago)

Dolma is the most highly recommand by the ladies...but i am wondering another choice of Betty from the Mandarin Oriental beauty salon.

Try 'Sense of touch' they have a few outlets, I use the one on Arbuthnot Road in central. They use a thick blue wax - I forget the technical term used for it which claims to make the whole experience painless - that part is rubbish but it definately does not hurt as much & the therapists are great.

I agree with Pebbles. SOT is great for the first time waxing. Yes it will hurt a bit, but not as bad as some other places.

Me n my frens go to Spa BPZ located in Central. They claim they r the pioneer of brazilian waxing in hongkong. And almost painless and i think they r reasonable too. I got the number 25241272 from forum.

I agree that SOT is the best place, but I went to the one on Hollywood Road and Carla did a great job and is used to first timers!

Yes i would recommend Beaute Par zai not only for Brazilian waxing but for slimming too.

did it at SOT, dolma and Nude, and i have to say Dolma is better priced and she is quite a jolly person (good for 1st timers) Second choice would be, go to Nude, but the therapist is more no -nonsense (serious, and 1st timers may be threatened) and they shine a bright light on u (which is good i guess if they dont miss anything - bt she did unfortunately) and SOT is ok - i have never been there again after my first time with them.

i have eczematous skin for many years.i would like to try out waxing but read somewhere that waxing on hypersensitive skin is not advised.
your opinion and advice please.

Dolma has a great personality, however i noticed that my hair grew back pretty fast afterwards. SOT is terrible, never go there.
I definitely like Nude the best. They're more professional, hygenic, less painful and I think the staff are really friendly. And their hot wax is pink!!

RebeccaAndrew. I have a skin condition too and never had a problem. Done SOT and Nude. only difference SOT does it all off in like 3 or 4 'rips'. Nude did it in about 20 fiddly little bits. Result the same though.

been to Nude recently, personally i would rate Dolma higher than Nude.

mila123 & pumpkin,
i think all the waxers are equally good.
they all do good waxing and good facial.
they all are very caring and all their hot wax are pink too!!.

Can someone tell me if Dolma uses the hot sticky "put on - pull off wax" and does she do it in 3-4 rips or does she do many small fiddly rips? I like to get my brazilian over and done as quick as possible!!!!

i have been going to her for almost eight years.
she use hot wax "put on - pull off wax" and she does it in 3-4 rips.
or better still you can ask her directly, her contact number 63484452.
hope that helps.

I am interested in costs, everyone seems to be good!
How much is Dolma at the Firm?
How much is SOT?
How much is Betty at the Mandarin Oriental?
Also, has anyone been to More Than Skin? I think it's in Central.....
Thanks

Helena at the Beautiful Skin Centre in Pacific Place shopping centre is also tops. A friend of mine fell asleep the other day whilst having her brazilian wax, true story! She is chinese but great in english and will have you hair free and have time to grab lunch if you go on your lunch hour.

Try Beaute par Zai. I have been going there for many years-not that I haven't tried other salons but I could never find the same comfort, warmth and the perfect treatments I get from them.

midnightlady,
i think your two choices(Dolma and betty) are really good, you should go ahead for your first brazilian waxing with full confidence.

smokeyIvy,
is it some kind of joke?
the forum is for serious discussion.
Dolma at The Firm,SoT and Ellespa are time-tested and trusted names in the Central district of Hong Kong.
