My helper has started going through menopause and seems to be really struggling. I'm not sure what to do - she has been a great employee for more than 6 years and is fantastic with our pets (my babies). But lately she is tired and sloppy and takes naps all the time. She says she feels sick and weak and is having trouble sleeping from the hot flashes.
Not having gone through this yet myself, I have no idea how to advise. The doctors have just given her panadol and told her to wait it out. I don't know if hormone replacement therapy works or is outrageously expensive. So I don't know if I should suggest it. I really sympathize with her, but she is starting to do a poor job. Help!
it hit my mum like a ton of bricks. she went through it for YEARS! still she gets the odd hot flash...
she finally resorted to a natural medicine shop and got some tablets. she had to take them for about a week before there was any change, but eventually they worked. i'm sorry, i have no idea what they were called, but i'm sure you'll find something similar here.
I've used evening primrose oil due to my hormonal imbalance ( I'm not on that stage yet.. early 30's) and has recommended it to my mom, aunt and friends and they all old me it made a lot of difference. Also I remember one friend who has having hot flushes but not anymore as her GP gave her some pills for it. I could ask her her GP or the name of the pill for you, if you want.
