Guangzhou to US,east coast best flight options

What are the best flight options from Guangzhou to east coast of USA? Company paying so price not main issue, prefer very few layovers, last stop Greensboro, North Carolina. Is Tokoyo a consideration?Travel agents welcome to advise.

We fly from Hong Kong to Newark and then to Greensboro on Continental. Coming back this summer we went ahead and took the short flight from Hong Kong to Guangzhou since we had so much luggage! Plus there are 5 of us! Normally just take the ferry.

To New York, via HK still is the easiest as you can take direct flights with Continental or Cathay Pacific. From GZ, taking Northwest means you stop over in Tokyo and probably Detroit before going to New York.

we took Cathay pacific from HK last summer and it took 15 hours one way.
