Transit in Bangkok

Has anyone transit-ed from the new international airport in BKK to the domestic airport? I've been told it is a night mare and to allow a minimum of 4hours between flights given the distance between the two airports. Can anyone verify this?

The new and old airport are in totally different directions and I think you must go through the city to get to the old one... so what you have heard sounds accurate... :(

From the Suvarnabhumi Airport news, 3 airlines for domestic flights will use the old Don Muang Airport on 25th March.
Nok Air, One-Two Go and Thai Airways(non connecting flights).
If you are going soon, then pls share your experience later.
