how to get internet connection

OK, so this is proberly a simple question.

I have a laptop at home with Internet Explorer on, then on the same desk my new desktop PC with no IE installed.

So how can i install IE? Then can i buy some kind of adaptor that plugs into the laptop and desktop PC so i can have the internet on both?

Will my provider charge me extra to have internet on both machines . . .?

You can plug both into the modem if it has multiple ports, or you could switch the cable from one to the other, but you'll only be able to use one at a time.

If you want to use both concurrently, you'll need a router. Cost should be $100-$300, and for $300 you could even get a cheap wireless router.

For software, IE comes with Windows. What operating system are you using?
