I'm looking for a speaker for my ipod with the ipod dock embedded in/on the actual speaker. The speaker should be as loud as possible (and preferably good quality).
Apple make a large speaker (approx HK$2800), as do Bose (approx HK$2650). Are there any others out there with plenty of volume? Which is the best?
i have the apple hi fi and it really is very very very good especially at high volume but the only downfall is not being able to connect other input devices unless they use a mini toslink (optical cable) or small headphone jack. great if like me you connect to the apple airport router, not so good if you want to use something else.
saying all this i will allways recomend this product over ALL others!!!
If you want something that will impress like no other amp, you cannot ignore DARED's VP-16 valve tube amp. What a gem ! This compact integrated valve tube amp also has 3 inputs, allowing you to connect other devices, not just your ipod.
I use one of these amazing sounding amplifiers, connected to my PC, IPOD and a professional mini disc deck in my den at home.
Connect this amplifier to a nice quality pair of bookshelf speakers, Polk Audio - Canton - Klipsch - Parradigm - Dynaudio - B & W - Boston Accoustics, and for about HK3000 you will have room filling sound, loads of dynamic headroom that only a valve tube amp can facilitate, magic imaging, warm punchy bass with excellent high frequency detail.
The McIntosh amplifier dealer in Sham Shui Po sells these amps for rrp$2490 ! an absolute audiophile bargain, will convincingly blow any other suggestion away, no argument about how beautiful these amps look either, especially with the lights turned off.
