Was wondering if there was anyone who knows of any specific BRAND and MODEL of DVD Recorder that is on the market presently that can change the TV/video signal from PAL to NTSC?
The reason I ask is because I have an NTSC Plasma TV and would like to be able to watch NowTV etc. rather than only DVDs and pre-recorded programs.
I doubt there is such a device - dvd recorder is not tv receiver - however, check into tv receivers for PCs. If you can get the PC to receive the broadcast you might be able to connect the output to your TV - but that is strictly a swag!
I am not 100% sure my answer is correct. But it may give you some pointers or people here may be able to correct me.
NowTV has S-Video output. The S-Video is probably "coded" in PAL format. Nonetheless it may be worth trying to see if your TV can display the signal properly.
What inputs does your TV have? I.e. HDMI, DVI, Component, Composite, SCART, VGA? Forget about RCA and RF.
Perhaps there are receivers or Media Center PCs that take S-Video and relay/convert it to HDMI and Component, which are not necessary NTSC or PAL formatted signals. Or even convert to VGA NTSC signal.
All other dedicated hardware solutions are most likely prohibitively expensive.
u could try internet TV, it is live satellite TV just like u get in the US or UK and can be streamed right through your NTSC TV, only issues are that you need a fast internet connection, and it costs around USD150
