I have a peculiar problem with my internet connection.
Once I was a PCCW-broadband customer, so my PC was connected, worked fine, no problem.
The PCCW-technician used his sign-in name and password to get me connected to the WAN miniport (as I think it is called). I never had to sign in: I just switched on, clicked on 'internet' and I was online.
At this moment I am no longer a PCCW client. I live in a share apartment where I tried to connect to the existing PCCW modem.
At one moment I could not connect, so I tried this and that, including fiddling with the sign-in name/ password. I deleted both of them, by accident.
Since the sign-in name and password are not mine, and I don't recall them (password was protected anyway), I can no longer sign in.
How to 'replace' the sign in name and password of the PCCW-technician with one of my own ?
Normally (at least here in China) when you sign up for broadband your user name and password are on the original invoice that the technician gives you when they come to your home to set things up.
Go to "Network Connections" in Control Panel. Find the connection you used to use. Right click and select "properties". Now you can change the sign in name and password.
