I saw some frozen fish fillets at ParkNShop. They are HUGE so I can't eat the whole thing in one go and have to cut out a small portion for each meal. I tried asking the lady if they can cut the fillet for me since they have electric butcher knife...but the answer I got from her was, "No, it's frozen so it's too hard to cut!" Er.....WTF???????
So what's the best way to do it myself? I don't want to defroze the whole thing and then refreeze the left over portion as this may increase the chances of bacteria and contamination.
I would just hack at it with a large clever.
Also, I would have reported her to the manager.
Of course she could have cut it.
When I used to buy a large pkg of frozen chicken breasts at the mkt in GZ, the seller used to use her huge sharp clever and snick-snack it was cut.
Look around in the Park N Shop or Welcome as they usually have Frozen Fish Fillets in slim long pieces. I usually buy those and just use about 4-5 pieces for a family of 4. Those are quite handy.
the easy answer would be to buy the fish fresh then you could cut it up and freeze it yourself, or buy small fresh fillets, but if you have to cut a large frozen fillet the best way is to use a saw
