What is the significance in cooking when using these different types of salt-- Sea Salt Kosher Salt Table salt Cooking salt (is this the same as rock salt?) Plus I've seen Mediterranean salt ..Does it alter the texture? the flavor? When can I substitute which for which?

salt is salt and salt changes/improves flavor. table and cooking salt is same mediterranean salt is most likely a seasoning salt, i.e. has herbs added or other things. seasalt is mre grainy and better in flavor. maldon seasalt if you ask me is the very best
