Canadian School's Middle School Program

Our daughter needs to get into a middle school program. Do you think the Canadian school is good? i know the standards are good, but we are Canadians and our questions are:
Are the children at CDNIS accepting of newcomers?
Is the environment friendly and welcoming?
How are the teachers?
Is there a lot of homework? How much?
