Help! I have a 8 year old daughter and I am going crazy with her forgetfulness. Is this common? All she has in mind is plays with her friends and HSM. We have to remind her to brush her teeth every morning, tidy the bathroom after herself, comb her hair... simple things like this... I am going out of my mind with her forgetfulness.
I have to say that it just depends on the child. Although my eight year old can be quite forgetful, my 14 year old is a chronic case of forgetfulness. However, the things you mention above sound like normal parenting responsibilities. Perhaps if you want more independence, you can implement a sticker/reward chart with the most important tasks taking priority.

Yes.
Right now you seem to be in a cycle where you remind her of everything so there's no need for her to remember on her own.
She's growing up and would perhaps respond better to self-regulation. Make a list of things she needs to do and tell her you expect her to do all her chores/tasks every day. Give her a checklist and only check it once a day.
