Does anyone know where I can find a child's watch where they can manipulate the hr and min. hands right on the face? Looking for a gift for a child learning to tell time. Thanks.
Hi Alila,
Not sure if it's exactly what you are looking for but I've bought my bub a couple of pretend watches from Toys Club in Central. They are wooden (faces shaped like animals) and the hands move. The brand is Tatiri I think. I just got them as bub wanted a watch "like mummy" - haven't actually tried to teach the time on it. Otherwise Axptguy38 is right - Bumps to Babes have a very good teaching clock for about 35 dollars.
Alila, not meaning to offend you but it occurred to me that if you are not a native English speaker you may not know that watch and clock are not the same thing. They are both timepieces but a watch is worn on the wrist or carried in a pocket. A clock is (typically) a larger item for non-mobile installation (wall or desk for example).
Bumps to babes have the large wooden clocks where you can move the hands to learn to tell the time. They also have childrens watches where the face has the 1/4, 1/2 coloured into segments and all the minutes round the outside. Swatch also does several kids watches like this. The watches are real so you cannot move the hands on them but hey are designed to make it easier to learn the time.
"axptguy38....I AM a native English speaker. I KNOW the difference between a watch and clock. If you read carefully, I've asked for a WATCH. Thank you."
There are quite a few posters here with English as a second or third language. If you were offended I apologize profusely. Just trying to help out.
