Just wondering what everyone did for their newborn's immunization? I hear there is a 6-in-1 shot for 2-month olds that means no shots at 1 month. Is that sufficient or do i need to go for the 1 month injections and then a second round at two months?
My baby had BCG and Hep B at birth.
At 7 weeks she was given the 6-in-1 shot (DTPa, IPV, HIB, Hep B) and 7vPCV vaccine. The next round I believe will be at Month 4.
i got my daughter's immunization record from the gov't clinic and this is what she has had so far:
birth: hep B
1 month: hep b
2 months: DTaP-IPV
4 months: DTap-IPV
6 months: hep b & DTaP-IPV
she will have her 1 yr jabs a month late as she was a little premature
that will include the MMR. i'm not sure if there are any others next month or not.
if you want others, then you need to go private and pay for them.
as far as i know they don't do HIB at gov't clinics
Combined vaccinations seem to offer better immunity and less side-effects.
The 6 in 1 vaccination combines the 5 in 1 (polio, tetanus, pertussis, diphtheria and HIB) with Hepatitis B. Indeed this would abolish the 1 month vaccination.
6 in 1 will be given at 2, 4 and 6 months.
