Girly Tent for 5 yr old
Posted by southernside (214 days ago)
My daughter wants to have a Big Pink Tent from Santa this year. I've checked out in Bumps to Babes. They have it, but its a bit expensive. Are there any other places where I can check out for a girly girly tent??? Thanks

try toys'r'us....
if you are ever in DB, there is a toy shop there that usually has stuff like that at a very reasonable price.

I just bought my 4.5 year old a toadstool tent from ELC in Megabox about 3 weeks ago to put away for christmas, very girly and she will love it. They also had a princess one, looks like a castle, I think they were only around $200. It's a great store and worth the look. Good Luck!

Cara - I did try TRS. That was my first stop. They have a tent but its too small. Only for 3 yrs old. My daughter will turn 5 early next yr.
Specks - The toadstool tent from ELC is just the thing which my daughter wants. But its price is not $200. Its $425!!! Is there any price difference betwn bumps to babes (Ap Lei Chau) and ELC(Megabox) then??? I don't mind going to Megabox if the price difference is so much for the same product.

I'm certain I did not pay $425 for the tent, I would double check right now except it's right up on top of the wardrobe and my husband is away (not to keen on climbing cupboards whilst pregnant!). I was going to go out to Megabox on Saturday so I can check for if you like and if they only have a couple left can ask if they can put one aside for you if the price is good. They did that for me when I bought it (had my little one with me, so didn't want her to see it). I really hope I haven't given you bum steer on the price, but I really don't think it was that expensive. Otherwise you could try calling them, the guy who works in there is great, really helpful and speaks english well. Sorry but I don't have the number, but as I said, more than happy to check it out for you on Saturday.

Thank you very much specks and bw for all your help. I have the catalouge of ELC in my hands right now and the price for the fairy toadstool playtent is written Hkd$425 :(. But I'll definitely check out personally in Megabox. Maybe they have some christmas discounts (hopefully) because this toadstool playtent is what my daughter wants.
Thanks again for all your help.

Hi southernside, who thought a tent could cause so much interest!! I managed to check the tent just now and it had a price on it of $375 (as usual can't find the receipt!!), but my husband and I are convinced we did not pay that much, so it must have been on sale. I'm out there today so I will have a quick look. I am curious now!

You know, regardless of the price now, you will just have to buy it. It's the principle of the matter!! Mind you our daughter's will probably play with it for 10 minutes and then it will collect dust for the next 3 years!

I'm back from Megabox and I have bad news... it's $425. I definately got it on sale when I went. I'm sorry if it have given you a bum steer. They had about 3 or 4 left. I guess being so close to christmas there is no chance of a sale price. It is very cute though. Sorry I couldn't come back with better news.

Thanks a lot specks. Atleast u saved me a trip all the way to Megabox just to chk out the price. I think I'll have to buy it at that price only. I'll just go to Bumps to Babes which is nearby and get it. U were really lucky u got ur hands on that tent. Thanks again.

Atlast my search got over today. It really pays to wait. I got a lovely classroom theme tent from TRS. It also comes with stickon numbers and pens and a carry bag. It can be folded and put in the bag. Very easy to carry. And its cheaper than the ELC tent....HKD$329. Really good deal.

God, this is weird, I was thinking about whether you had bought the tent just today!!! I'm so glad you found one at last and it sounds great! You will be giggling with this now, my daughter has decided that Island Princess Barbie is much more important than a tent and has asked if Santa could possibly bring her the Island Princess instead!! I told him Santa already has the wishlist and it could be tricky as he has already gathered lots of things together for kids and believe it or not, she was happy with explanation and said that a tent could be just as great, aaaahhh sigh of relief! Isn't it lucky that her grandmother has bought her an Island Princess Barbie! Have a great Christmas.

Hi Specks!!
Children's expectations from Santa is neverending. Mine also wants a watch now(which is quite ok... Thank God). That was a real nice explanation that you gave your daughter. Thankfully, my daughter is not so much into Barbie right now. She thinks that Barbie is toooo skinny :D Good for me. Maybe next christmas.
Wish you a Happy Christmas too!!! Enjoy!!!!!
