Greenfields Kindy in Tung Chung

I am moving to Hong Kong in January and am looking at living in Tung Chung. I have an almost three year old I was considering sending to Greenfields Kindy. I just read a thread in the playgroups section where someone was not impressed with it and asked for alternatives. There have been no answers there and I was wondering if anyone had an opinion or any alternatives for that area. I don't have him to have to travel too far.

Pls be mindful of where you intend to send your kid to primary school and whether the kindy will prepare them for the school you want to send them to.

Can also consider DB kindys - but may be a bit far.

My son has been going there since late 2005 when it first opened and I have been very happy, so has my son. He is in the international stream. As with any other kindy in HK there has been a turnover of staff, but thankfully my son's teachers have not changed (other classes have). I would recommend it. Others send their children to Tsing Yi ESF which is meant to be great and there is a bus to/from TC.

I had my son in Greenfield for a few weeks and he hated it. When I tried to find out why he was so unhappy there the teachers just came up with different stories which didn't mach up. I don't think the teachers there are very qualified. The rooms are also very small and the play areas are not great either. I know I sound very negative, but this is my experience with this Kindergarten.


I switched to Sunshine House and the atmosphere there is so much better and I have a good feeling leaving my son there.
