urinary tract infection

hi, i have this UTI problem with it having a body ache and a mild fever for a month already past. I went to see the gynaecoligst and dr. deny to give me medicine saying i need to see general practioner for this. dr. said that i am fine and for fever and body ache is nothing to do with this problem and cant treat me. Although my blood report is fine and urine report is almost ok except that i am having some blood traces in urine.

i went to see GP and he said its a UTI.

Dont know what to do.....pls help me.

Go to a urologist. Blood in urine is not a good sign and leaving an infection too long can lead to a kidney infection which is much worse. Find out which specific antibiotic is needed for this bacterium (a swab and culture can be done very easily) and get it treated. If it's a reccurent problem, drink some cranberry juice every day or take dried cranberry capsules to help maintain your bladder health.

yes, a urologist is the proper specialist to see if it's a UTI, but the GP should be able to do this.
First go back to the GP and get a "Clean catch" urine CULTURE not just a urine analysis. If the culture comes back with NO bacteria, it's definitely NOT a UTI. If greater than 100,000, it probably is. If in between you may go get a urine culture with a cather inserted. There should be no bacteria at all. If there is, it's probably a urine infection. It is obvious why you may not want the cath specimen to begin with (ouch!!).

If it is not a urine infections but there is blood in the "clean catch" urine specimen, then you need to see a nephrologist and NOT a urologist. There is almost always blood in the cath specimens.
