medical insurance for foreign teachers

The college where I taught before (another province) provided medical coverage. However, my college here in Guangzhou gave me the "option" of providing my own medical insurance. Now that I have been talking with other teachers I find this is an issue that needs some clarification. Since my policy is written in Chinese, I am not sure what is covered. Are there other teachers out there with similar questions? Perhaps someone can shed some light? Anyone interested in group insurance? By the way, I am from Washington (the state, not the other place) Rongwei

Best to ask for the policy in English. Obviously your waiban can get it translated for you.
You may wish to post to www.teflchina.org on the email lists there to get a wide range of responses. Most expats here have their medical insurance paid by their companies.
