I will visit my bf's family/country soon, and want to buy them some gifts as a gesture of politeness..any suggestions???? Mum is all set, but I need 'manly' ideas!!

'originally' from hk but bf also lives here and the parents have been here (once)...
Im thinking chinese pastries, cushion covers, tea pot set + tea. dunno what else!!

Most important gift would be the one for his Mum! Once that's all set you are fine. No need to get all "ethnic" about it, sometimes it can actually work against you ie. turning their son Chinese lol. Fathers are usually quite happy with a nice bottle of whiskey!

Depending on which country you are travelling to, there may be restrictions on importing meat and/or any food. I would suggest you check whether the country you are going to has imposed such restrictions before deciding on food.
