Cycling groups in Hanoi

I am an avid cyclist in Manila, I recently started working in Hanoi and am in town about two weeks in a month, from where i come from we regularly have groups that meet up on weekends (sometimes on weekdays too) to ride and have the occasional club races....

Do they have this in Hanoi as well? can anyone point me in the right direction? I wanted to bring my bike but am not sure if it will be worthwhile...

I am not aware of any groups as such, but there must be. There are Vietnamese bicycle racers - they must train sometime and somewhere. A good number of expats ride bicycles, and there are tourist companies that organize bicycle tours - their people must be into bicycling (unless they get their fill at work;^) I would do some online research about VN bicycle racers/racing, and contact the tourism companies that do bicycle tours for a start. Cool thanks for the heads up will try your suggestion... i did see a couple of vietnamese cyclists about 6 months ago... but could not locate where they hang out... I did try and search Vietnam expat cycling and got into this group..
