Things we miss.............

I am interested in what items expats miss most when living in Asia? It can be anything at all. Large or small items, everyday or luxury. I am especially interested if these are things that are difficult to get hold of.

I know from my own experience in Guangdong that simple things like deodorants and familiar beers could be hard to get. Anyway, I don't want to sway your thoughts.

you can get good baked beans from the supermarkets in hanoi... only 10,000d...

i missed licorice, marshmallows, GOOD chocolate (though I found a supermarket with Cadbury!!), news from the world, and a comfortable couch!!!

Decent beer, Cherry Ripes and Twisties -friends bring them from HKG - also Starbucks sausage rolls. My wife misses Gudang Garam - friends bring it from JKT. Magazines - the selection in Hanoi is terrible.

I've thought of a few more ... a good bar. Junk trips. Ferries to the islands. A good newspaper. Now I'm just whingeing, aren't I?
