I may be moving to HCMC in March with my 2 children. And keen to find about international school situation in HCMC.
I had to decline a job in HK since I couldn't find space for them at international school in HK. Going to local school was not an option, given the language issue.
I hope school situation is a lot easier in Vietnam.
By the way, both children are in primary school now. But the older one is grade 5, so nearing the end of primary school. So a school which have primary as well as secondary section will be preferred. I want them to be in the same school campus.
try international school ho chi minh city and british school also. both in an phu (disctict 2) ... there is also an american school (saigon south int'l school) but in district 7
i suppose it depends on whether your children are native english speakers or not ... i'd give each a call and ask them directly. From what i've heard, the older grades tend to be a bit easier to get into (i guess some families choose to board older kids elsewhere) ... each school is generally very welcoming and will try to work w you. but it depends on seats available in a particular grade.
you might find more trouble w housing ... it's incredibly tight here!!! definitely a huge shock, esp when trying to find somehting suitable CLOSE to any of teh schools
