Art classes wanted

I am relocating to Hanoi at end of August, my 17 year old daughter will join me, taking a gap year before going to college. She would like to study art while in Hanoi. Does anybody out there know if there are any classes which foreigners can attend in Hanoi?

I suspect there are lots of interesting possibilities for a would-be artist.

On Duong Nghi Tam, between the round-about and the Sheraton is the Lacquer Tree - they teach people to do lacquer art. UNIS (UN Intl School) has evening classes in a variety of subjects - art subjects are no doubt included.

Ask your VN colleagues about other options - maybe working/studying with a local artist?

There are scads of artists - all types of mediums (is that the word?), local and expat. Your daughter will need a year just to figure out the options!

Thank you again. Agree that linking up with a local artist will probably be the most rewarding for her. Yes, I've been to Hanoi half a dozen times over the past couple of years and am looking forward to moving there on a more permanent basis :-)
