U need to contact China Travel Services Ltd not the Indian consulate they've got nth to do with that.
but I can tell what u'll need thats...... u need to add chinese name on yr Id card and HKSAR passport if u dont have a chinese name yet then u can get a OCI card valid for 10 years for about 300 dollards...
OCI stands for Overseas citizenship of India. Nothing to do with CTS. What you have mentioned is for Home Return Permit. I dont think Chinese name is must to apply the Home Return Permit card for naturlized Chinese. No matter you have Chinese name or not, if you are (naturalized or born) Chinese you are eligible for Home Return Permit which is validity for 10 Years.
Hope you cleared.
but I've checked with the CTS and they have made a new rule that they require u to have a chinese name added on the ID card, but the immi. said that u need to add chinese on the passport b4 u add it on the Id card.........
The Chinese name rule is not a new one. My son is ethnically Chinese, born in HK and holds a HKSAR passport and has never been eligible for a home return permit because he doesn't have a Chinese name and has to enter China on his European passport.
My son was adopted in HK and is an ethnic Chinese. I went to CTS to try to get him a home permit but they told me he had to have a Chinese name in his ID or passport.
He applied for his smart ID card once he turned eleven (as is the law) and we just added a Chinese name on his ID card. The immigration officer told me once we have applied and received the HKSAR passport he would be eligible to get a home return permit.
Yes, I have confirmed with them. The chinese name is must and only chinese name is print on HRP card. I am a naturalized chinese (not ethinic chinese) so I only opted for english name. I only have HKSAR passport. If I visit china I must have HRP card. So, I have no option to amend my info on HKID. I could have save this extra $$$ if I aware this before I replaced my HKID for 3 star after naturalization.
