ooo-washing machine in rental flat

Could u pls advise if the washing machine has some strange smell come out when is being used but still working ok, who should pay for the repairing, the landlord or tenant?

it all depends and the lease....what does your "contract" say about appliances......assume smell equates to "it doesn't work and needs replacing"....what sayest the lease?

You'd think that wouldn't you, but often contracts are purposely a bit grey in this area and say something like "The landlord shall keep and maintain the structural parts of the Premises" which allows the landlord to argue the tenant is responsible for looking after washing machines, furniture etc.
I guess the advice has to be check your contract.
